PORTSMOUTH – The Scioto County Board of Commissions paid tribute to veteran Stanley Richards for being inducted into the Ohio Military Hall of Fame.
Richards is a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and the president of the Scioto County Veterans Service Commission. Richards earned a Bronze Star while in Southeast Asia for Gallantry in Battle.
“We would like to congratulate Stan,” Commissioner Cathy Coleman said.
“We appreciate our veterans,” Commissioner Mike Crabtree. “I’m one of them, but I appreciate my brother veterans as well and what is done by Veteran Services.”
The board is also in the process of hiring a new Litter Control Superintendent with the Lawrence Scioto Solid Water District and accepted a change order on the 2020 Washington Boulevard Waterline Project.
The board is preparing to conduct interviews for a new Litter Control Superintendent with the Lawrence Scioto Solid Waste District.
“We had eight applicants, but one withdrew at the last minute,” Coleman said. “So we’ll be interviewing seven applicants. We will probably make an announcement by next Thursday.”
The change in the order for the Washington Boulevard Waterline Project was a material costs increase. According to Crabtree the increase was about $3,200.

• The panel moved to pay various funds docket, then and now certificates and moral obligations in the amount of $117, 052.33
