PORTSMOUTH – The Scioto County Board of Commissioners opened bids on the HVAC projects for several county-owned buildings and approved CARES Act funding for a COVID transport vehicle for Children Services.
Three bids were opened Thursday at the Scioto County Board of Commissioners meeting at the Scioto County Courthouse. The three bids were submitted by Dr. Home and Air of Otway, Harold Aeh Heating And Air Conditioning and Electrical of Portsmouth and All Seasons Heating and Air of West Portsmouth.
The buildings included in the bids are Children Services, located at 3940 Gallia Street, ACS, located at 601 8th Street, Economic Development, located at 502 Court Street, the Greater Portsmouth Regional Airport in Minford, the Courthouse Annex, and Job And Family Services, located at 710 Court Street.
The panel voted to accept the bids and refer them to the Maintenance Manager for review. The commissioners expect to have something back “in the coming days.”
“It is very interesting how close several of them are,” Commissioner Bryan Davis said. “That says something about the preparation of the bid documents and the walk-through that happened.”
The commissioners approved an agreement between the Scioto County Commissioners and Children Services in regard to the CARES Act funding for a transport vehicle for Children Services.
Davis said the cost for the vehicle would be $35,000.

• The board approved a letter of memorandum from the Sanitary Engineer regarding unpaid sewer rates and charges
• The panel approved the payment of the various dockets, moral obligations and Then and Now Certificates in the amount of $769,693.06
